HOLLYWOOD, CA May 13, 2009 ParamountDigital Entertainment, Bad Robot Interactive, CBS Consumer Productsand Naked Sky Entertainment today announced that Star Trek: D-A-C is now available for download onXbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game andentertainment system from Microsoft. Inspired by the newStar Trek film now playing in theatres worldwide, Star Trek: D-A-C is a fast-paced, top-down space shooterwhere players take the captains chair and engage in intenseonline multi-player or co-op battles. Players will choose betweenRomulan and Federation Starships including the all-new U.S.S. Enterprise.
Fans of the new Star Trek film can nowexperience the excitement that made the movie a worldwide sensationin their own living rooms through fierce Star Trek: D-A-C multiplayer battles, said TomLesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment.Rather than retelling the story of the blockbuster film, Star Trek: D-A-C lets gamers boldly go into deep space onXbox LIVE Arcade and seize their own intergalactictriumphs.
Star Trek D-A-C is a video game produced by Naked Sky Entertainment, and published by Paramount Digital Entertainment in association with Bad Robot Interactive. Its subtitle, 'D-A-C', refers to the three game types that can be played: Deathmatch, Assault, and Conquest. A tie-in to Star Trek, the game was released for Xbox 360 via the Live Arcade download service in May 2009, concurrent with. Star Trek D-A-C is a top-down shooter devoid of both character and complexity. But its simplicity is not a gateway to euphoria; D-A-C is no Peggle. Instead, the crude shooting action and movement. Star Trek games have a pretty mixed rep and abandonment of titles like this doesn't really help matters. Since the level transitions go into a full 3D view behind the ship, I think it's reasonable to assume that it's at least worth gutting this game to extract the models, textures, and soundtrack.
Star Trek: D-A-C allows fans to directly control a varietyof ships and pitch battles between Starfleet and the RomulanEmpire. Up to 12 players can compete in thrilling multiplayer teamcombat. Star Trek: D-A-C features three game play modes: Singleplayer, online multiplayer and online co-op. For each mode, thereare three different game types: Team Deathmatch, Assault andConquest. Players can choose from three ship types for eachfaction, including the new U.S.S. Enterprise featured in the Star Trekfilm. Each ship the powerful Flagship, the nimble Fighterand the devastating Bomber offers its own uniquecapabilities for players to master and manipulate as they fight forvictory. Star Trek: D-A-C also incorporates music and signaturesounds taken directly from the new Star Trekfilm.
